Gone are the days of Mario and Luigi.. or Super Mario Brothers… Now they are talking about Wario, Wario Land and the latest installment, Wario Land: Shake It!

Who is Wario you ask?

Wario is Mario’s not-so-nice counterpart. Although the two look similar, Wario is only in it for the money and is not averse to using the basest means to get it, like ripping people off — or even letting one rip.

Wario first appeared in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, for the Game Boy. See, ‘Wario’ is, like, an evil version of ‘Mario’ – get it? The ‘M’ in ‘Mario’ is upside-down, making the ‘W’ in ‘Wario’ — and “warui” in Japanese means “bad”.

AHHH, makes sense! LOL!

I’m no gamer myself and I have never been a big fan of game consoles and similar stuff, but when I was young Wario Brothers, err.. Mario Brothers are very famous! It was very well known in fact that there are many stalls or video game rentals and they all have Super Mario Brothers Game… Now, it’s Wario Land time, Wario Land Shake iT!

What is Wario Land and Shake iT?

Wario Land: Shake It!, a classic side-scroller for the Wii console stars Wario, the smelly, bad-mannered alter ego of Mario. With the Wii Remote controller turned sideways like an old-school controller, veterans and newcomers alike can run, jump and smash their way through hectic side-scrolling stages. Players shake the Wii Remote to help Wario take down his enemies, empty bags of treasure or cause earthquakes. Best of all, there are numerous stages each offering multiple missions to keep players coming back again and again to unlock everything, collect more coins or just improve their best times.
