We’ve been blogging about the One-night only Eraserhead Concert for some time now and there have been a lot of developments (as well as issues and controversies)
To list a few, here are some of the updates for the past month:
August 13, The Venue for the concert will be on The Fort Open Ground and no longer on CCP, as previously reported… the official ‘tickets’ for the event though, we still have no news.
It’s funny how I keep ‘updating myself’ with news about this eraserheads concert.
Just a few days ago I was all grumpy and pissed off (with DOH, with Philip Morris) now the tides have turn.. masaya naman ako because this time, the concert will very much push though! hahaha!
I’m still hoping that Marlboro will be contacting me anytime soon about how to get the ticket for the Eraserheads concert. Checked the blog world this morning and sad news slapped me in the face.
I just want to pass on the news to other Arnel Pineda fans here sa ‘pinas.. The Journey played together with those ladies from Heart and the guys from Cheap Trick at the Zoo Ampethetre, yesterday July 25, 2008!
Galing no?
I still can’t believe a fellow pinoy can go this far! It’s true, don’t stop believin’!
Local fans got the chance to see whether new Journey front man Arnel Pineda could match the vocal prowess of former vocalist Steve Perry. The Filipino singer proved not only a worthy successor but a virtual vocal doppelganger.
Most fans seemed to welcome Pineda with open arms, and his indefatigable stage presence seemed to win over any detractors. One female fan snuck onto the stage to steal a quick embrace before security guards hauled her away, leaving the grinning Pineda to quip, “Anyone else?”
Sabi nga ni Morales… “Wala kang Katulad ——” .. lol
Better check Utube, or Yutube for the video of their performance.. I haven’t so please send me the link if you do find it.. (Don’t mind my Yuotube wrong spelling… It’s a wrong spelling blog.. lol)
Tonight, Ely Buendia confirms that there will definitely be and eraserheads concert this coming August 30! Darn it! I will not be able to see it! Nasa Canada ako nun! Syet!
Before Ely’s confirmation, I already read in Sandwich’s mailing list about Raimund Marasigan’s comment that there will be an Eraserheads gig, that he’ll be playing drums and all those stuff!
arnel
Yeah, that’s the recent news I read about our very own pinoy super rockstar, the new lead vocalist of the Journey Band, Arnel Pineda.
According to the news headline by Kevin W. Smith, ” New singer’s good, but we miss cartoonish, iconic Steve Perry”… See that? The new singer really is good!
Go Arnel!
Here’s some snippet of the news:
band members weren’t available to talk before our deadline, Journey will no doubt play crowd pleasers like “Wheel In The Sky,” “Any Way You Want It,” “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” “Open Arms” “Faithfully” and, of course, the immortal and unkillable “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
Still, it’s tough to not feel a bit disappointed in advance hanging with Journey without Steve Perry.
Yeah, the band has a new singer, Arnel Pineda, who sounds a lot like Perry — the band’s most famous frontman who last departed in 1997.
And with Pineda, the band is trying to make a run at relevancy with a three-disc CD/DVD package called “Revelation.” Released in June, it includes 11 new songs.
We didn’t get a copy of “Revelation,” but The New York Times did, and their reviewer liked it. . . even the new stuff:
This is one of my son’s favorite video on utube. It’s an old cartoon that enumerates all the nations of the world. Although not updated (no Singapore and others) it’s still fun to learn and know all the countries…
No New Yok? It’s in the United states, silly. lol!
I kept on talking about Arnel Pineda of this blog… Maybe I should call it Arnel Pineda dot Info instead of Elizar Palad dot Info huh?
Anyway, the latest news I got from the internet that I want to share here, with you Journey and Arnel Pineda fans is that the latest CD of Journey with Arnel Pineda as their new lead vocalist is entitled “Revelation” as shared by OPMB.
“Revelation” is the first JOURNEY album to feature the angelic voice of Arnel Pineda. Guitarist Neal Schon says about him, “We feel reborn. I think there’s a lot of chemistry between the five of us. The new stuff sounds tremendous. Everyone’s so stoked about it. We feel very fortunate to have found Arnel.”
Charice Pempengco. Lately, a lot of Filipinos are making a name for themselves on the entertainment scene not just here in the Philippines but for all around the world! The recent I got to tsismis is this Charice Pempengo girl.
I have made a list of Filipino making a buzz globally at the very early days of this blog. I haven’t updated it to include this small girl, but with a very strong voice!
Her name of course, Charice Pempengco! You can read all about Charice on other blog nowadays, every body’s talking about here! (You know bloggers if you’re hot, you’re something to blog about)
Charice Relucio Pempengco, better known by her stage name Charice was born May 10, 1993. And she also was discovered on Utube, just like our very own Journey Lead vocalis, Arnel Pineda!
